Rainbow Embossing Paste

There is no end to the number of techniques you can employ with Embossing Paste. Today it is Rainbow Embossing Paste and I show you how to achieve a lovely background effect. We use Sponge Daubers and ink pads and have a bit of fun.

The colours used for the rainbow were:

  • Crushed Curry
  • Bermuda Bay
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Melon Mambo
  • Real Red
  • Dapper Denim
  • Tempting Turquoise

Rainbow Embossing Paste 1

In this photo you can see the detail of the layers and the embossing paste. I used Clear Wink of Stella over all the background and the Dragonflies. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals cut in half for the Dragonflies. They’re just the right size to pop them up off the background.


  • Card Base – 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded at 10.5cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″
  • Layer 1 – 14.3cm x 10cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Layer 2 – 13.8cm x 9.5cm or 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Embossing Paste layer has been trimmed to 12.3cm x 8cm or 4 1/4″ x 3″
