Today’s Quick & Easy Card is Bloomin’ Birthday using Birthday Blooms stamp set and Stampin’ Blends. These new alcohol based markers make tonal colouring so easy, even I could do it. As I’ve said many a time, I failed colouring in at school and really didn’t like it much but these Stampin’ Blends make it a pleasure. They also make for a very quick and easy card for Bloomin’ Birthday.
If you decide to download and use the tutorial, an I sincerely hope you do, please make sure you read all the instructions before proceeding. Use the photos in this blog post for a guide. There’s no right or wrong way to use Stampin’ Blends. I’ve described the way I do it. After using Stampin’ Blends for a short time, you’ll develop your own method. I’m actually doing a free course in colouring at Kit and Clowder which has helped me understand a lot about light and tones that I never knew before. Here’s a closer look at the flower:
The small pink dots were made using another image stamp from the Birthday Blooms stamp set. I used Powder Pink ink to stamp them. Can you see the variety of tones you can produce. I must say this only took me about 10 minutes to colour and I felt very relaxed after it.
Just a tip on adding the Mini Sequin Trim – I add it when I first tie the first part of the knot, then slip it back on itself when I tie the bow part of the knot. Hope that makes sense. That way you have it all coming out towards the front and it’s secure.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.
