Do you get the feeling I may like butterflies? (Oh and owls but that’s another story). I love this photopolymer stamp set for its versatility and how you can just change something a bit and get a totally different look. This card was stamped with Stazon then water coloured using an Aqua Painter and re-inkers. I placed just a couple of drops of re-inker in the lid of the stamp pads and dipped the Aqua Painter in to get the… Read more »

Do you sometimes wonder how you can make something look a little different by not doing much? Well I took out my 42-year-old Elna sewing machine (it’s a little portable one) and did some stitching onto card. The secret is to stitch before you add adhesive so you don’t ‘gum up the works’ in your sewing machine. This is what I came up with: I used Whisper White on Tip Top Taupe and added some of our Burlap ribbon cut… Read more »

Do you love butterflies? I do and I think they give almost any project a real lift. So, I have used the Bold Butterfly Framelits in today’s projects. I’ve combined this card with some left over pieces of Bohemian Designer Series Paper, an old favourite stamp set Papillon Potpourri and a new stamp set Garden In Bloom which is a Photopolymer set. I used Papillon Potpourri butterflies to stamp the inside of the card and the outside of the envelope… Read more »

Do you ever find yourself with lots of little scraps of card and Designer Series Paper and not know what to do with them? Well here are some cards where I have used up some scraps. I had a strip of Bohemian DSP left over after making some projects with the Gift Bag Punch Board and decided to use them on cards. This is the second card made from the strip of left over Bohemian DSP. I simply swapped sides… Read more »

I wonder what you’re favourite product in a new catalogue might be? When I saw the new catalogue Awesomely Artistic was a stamp set I just had to have. Today I decided to team it with one of my other favourite stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge. I decided to use the new 2015 – 2017 In Colors for these cards which celebrate birthdays. I used one of the stamps from the set to stamp inside the card and on the outside… Read more »

Don’t you love using 2 shades of the same tone and coming up with a different look? At Convention this year we used this stamp set “I Think You’re Great” and made a card using a Note Card. I liked it so much I thought I’d turn it into a full card for my card class to use and learn a new technique. This is a similar version to the one we made at Convention just on a little larger… Read more »

“Thank you” can be an incredibly powerful pair of words, especially if the person you’re thanking really needs to hear them, or isn’t expecting them. Most of us really do want to hear someone thank us for the things that we do, even if it’s something that we’re supposed to be doing anyway. Being appreciated is one of those things that really motivates us, both at work and in life, so a little goes a long way if you can… Read more »

In my monthly card class the other day we made 2 cards using the new 2015 – 2017 In colors. One was a birthday card and I shared that the other day. Today I’m sharing a “Just Because” card we made. This one features an extra Bitty Butterfly in Mint Macaron just above the sentiment which is stamped in Watermelon Wonder. I added Pearls to the body of the butterfly and stamped the inside of the card and the envelope… Read more »

I just love new colours and Stampin’ Up! has 5 new In Colors for us to use 2015 – 2017. One of them is Mint Macaron and it’s gorgeous. In my class the other day we used it to make twon birthday cards. It’s such a delicate colour when you see it stamped and in the lace ribbon, however it is quite strong enough to show up the punched out hearts. I used the Pearls to counter balance the sentiment…. Too often we leave the little things unsaid. Like saying ‘thank you’. When was the last time you sent a note of thanks to a friend, relative, acquaintance, customer? I have some more Note Cards of ‘thanks’ to share with you today The card above uses one of my all time favourite stamp sets, Sheltering Tree and I’ve stamped it using Autumnal tones. This card uses the same sentiment stamp set, Sassy Salutations, however the tree is from Thoughts and… Read more »
