Isn’t this flower just wonderful? My friend Leonie made a similar card a while back and I thought I needed to try the technique too. It’s apparently called the ‘Pulled Colour’ Technique. You stamp your image and then using an Aqua Painter you pull the colour from the ink to colour you image. I probably could have left a bit more white space inside the image, however as a first attempt, I’m fairly pleased with it. I did go in… Read more »

Now I know shortly my children will probably contact me for a birthday card for their father. It’s his birthday in August and seeing as they told me I could make my own, I guess I can make his as well. Just as well I love them to the moon and back. So here’s another set of cards using Typeset specialty designer Series Paper. This one uses a good old favourite of mine, The Open Sea and I’ve used a… Read more »

I had the Typset Specialty Paper and felt I could use it to make some cards. I searched Pinterest and amongst all the cards I saw, came up with this set of cards using this designer Series Paper and Traveler Stamp Set. I also used a stamp from The Open Sea to stamp the inside of the cards and the outside of the envelopes. Although the photos make the background look white it’s actually Very Vanilla and I used very… Read more »

Recently I’ve needed to think outside the box for some cards suitable for Same-Sex Couples. I still have some more ideas floating around in my head, but here’s one of my last shares for a while of a card suitable for Same-Sex couples. Two tuxedos, one with the black tie and one with a red tie. I’ve used Stampin’ Write markers to draw in the buttons and colour the heart on the sentiment. I only made one of these cards… Read more »

In previous posts I have mentioned I provide cards to a local Giftware and Fashion Store. When visiting the shop the other day Connie asked me for cards for Same-Sex Couples.  One of my previous posts also had a rainbow effect for the front of the card. The rainbow has become the symbol for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. It signifies pride at having not only survived, but thrived in a world which has often been a hostile place…. OK, so we’re still in winter but doesn’t this ice cream look just so very inviting? I used some tone on tone stamping to achieve this look. I’ve used Gorgeous Grunge for the melted ice cream splotches. Another great stamp set which is a must have.  I think the splotches give it almost an authentic ice cream look and as with my pies shared in earlier posts, this ice cream has no calories. As Sprinkles of Life is a Photopolymer… Read more »

I provide cards to a local Giftware and Fashion Shop and was asked to do some cards suitable for weddings. So this is one I came up with which I thought looked quite formal but may also suit same-sex couples. I made two the same, they just had different sentiments inside the card. I used Tuxedo Memento Black to stamp the sentiment on the front and the greeting inside the card. This is the second card with the heart placement… Read more »

The rainbow has become the symbol which supports same-sex couples. I decided to make some cards using Stampin’ Up! colours to make a rainbow as the background for a wedding card. I layered the strips of card at an angle and adhered them in place, then trimmed off the excess. I used the Tree Punch to create the triangles and a circle punch for the head. The black flower accent os from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack with a Rhinestone… Read more »

This is such a great stamp set and $3 for every purchase goes to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. You can almost taste the sugar made by the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. The pie dish is made using Gorgeous Grunge stamped first in Early Espresso and then stamped again in Versamark and embossed with Iridescent Ice. I had a piece of Whisper White with sewing around it and I thought this card, just right for the piece. I’ve used the… Read more »
