Watercolor Embossing

This Watercolor Embossing is a fun technique. You can use both sides of your embossing folder to yield two different looks. Clean up is easy and you don’t need much in the way of equipment to do the technique. The card below was one I made from the embossed side of the Embossing Folder, Petal Burst which I used. I speak in the video of how to tell the difference between the embossed and debossed sides of your embossing folder.

Watercolor Embossing Folder

I’ve used Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Wild Wasabi to colour the embossing folder. This card also uses the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends Bundle for the Pansy.

Watercolor Embossing1

I also used Birthday Blossoms and the Everyday Label Punch. The leaves in Lemon Lime Twist were made using the Leaf Punch from the Holiday Catalogue.

Did you learn something different to try in your paper crafting?
Please subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss any more technique videos.
Now, I did clean up with some wet wipes however, you could simply run your embossing folder under a tap and allow to air dry. You could also dry off with a lint free cloth.

Watercolor Embossing

Watercolor Embossing3
This is the other card I made from the Watercolor Embossing technique. I have a strip left over for another project in the future. I think the Basic Black cardstock makes the panel ‘pop’, don’t you? This card used the Garden In Bloom Photopolymer stamp set and the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies. I cut the Dragonfly with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Two of our Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals fit nicely on the body/head of the dragonfly to adhere it to your project.
Watercolor Embossing4
The butterfly stamp from Garden In Bloom is stamped with Berry Burst to 3rd generation. So ink up and stamp, stamp again without inking up and stamp a 3rd time without inking up. I did the same on the outside of the envelope. Berry Burst is one of our inks which allows you to do this technique.

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Shaker Cards

So today the Latte Girls are having some fun with Shaker Cards. I’m sure you’ll be inspired by Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Shaker Cards. These cards are both fun to make and for the recipient to receive. Fun Happy Mail has to put a smile on your dial. See what the Latte Girls have to share by visiting all the blogs in the hop:

Now here’s my fun Shaker Card which is so easy to make with Stampin’ Up! Foam Adhesive Strips.

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop - Shaker Cards

This was so much fun to make. I used the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper. I also used the Cheers to the Year stamp set. Not just for New year, but you can use it for anniversaries, weddings, Christmas and more. The shaker technique gives this card a WOW factor and I used the Champagne Foil and the Layering Circle Framelits for cut the circle for the frame.

Now here’s a tip for the Foam Adhesive Strips to make them go around the circle a bit easier. Use your snips to just nick the outside rim of the Foam Adhesive Strip so when you place it around the circle there’s a bit of give in the outside of the strip when placing it around the circle. I hope that makes sense.  I hope you enjoyed Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Shaker Cards and would love to read your comments

Star Topped Gift Bag

In today’s Video I share how I made this Star Topped Gift Bag with the help of my Gift Bag Punch Board. It’s quite easy. The only tricky bit is remembering where to start threading your ribbon through.

Star Topped Gift Bag

Isn’t it cute? You could easily make a few of these for Christmas or any other occasion. You can get 2 out of one 12″ x 12″ sheet of Designer Series Paper. Here I’ve used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack. Now, you could make this little Star Topped Gift Bag for any occasion by just changing the paper.  You could also change Star Topped Gift Bag 1 the ribbon. Keep in mind the ribbon needs to be narrower than the holes and a satin finish is good. A ribbon which will slip easily between the holes.

I hope you liked this video. If you did, please subscribe to my channel.
Now the problem, I had getting the ribbon to close the bag was because I was starting and ending in the wrong place. We all make mistakes, don’t we? Anyway, you need to start and end on a side, the bit that goes in like a valley fold and that will close the bag without any hassles.
Star Topped Gift Bag 1

Star Topped Gift Bag Measurements

  • Designer Series Paper is 26.3 cm x  15 cm or 10 1/2″ x 6″
  • With short side at top of Simply Scored, score at 0.8 cm or 1/2″
  • Turn paper and score at 3.5 cm or 1 3/8″ at opposite end to first score
  • Use the Gift Bag Punch Board and make only the sides, inserting the end with the score at 3.5 cm or 1 3/8″
  • Side score lines need to be folded and burnished to make Valley folds
  • The Gusset score lines need to be folded to make Mountain folds
  • Use the hole punch in the Gift Bag Punch Board to punch holes in the top, after folding it down. Match up the side score lines with the pointer

Here’s a view of the top of the Star Topped Gift Bag:

Gorgeous Happy Birthday – Quick & Easy Card Tutorial

Today’s card I’ve called Gorgeous Happy Birthday as that’s the stamp set we’re using. I think you’ll find today’s card suitable for a male with the colours I’ve used, even though it has flowers on it. I’ll give you some other colour combinations you could use at the end of the post which will still use Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Gorgeous Happy Birthday

You could change the stamp to the balloons and stamp tone on tone to give a different effect. The Foil Frenzy Specialty D.S.P. goes with almost any colour combination you can dream up. It’s very versatile and well worth purchasing. It is a card weight instead of paper weight and would be suitable for you to make 3D type projects such as bags, boxes etc.

I’ve used Crumb Cake card and stamped with Crumb Cake. Then I made a banner in Pool Party and stamped in Pool Party. Easy? The Pool Party banner is adhered first and then the Foil Frenzy Specialty D.S.P.. I stamped roughly 3 rows of flowers on both the Crumb Cake and Pool Party.

Just be mindful the balloons fit the small balloon punch on the Bouquet Balloon Punch so if you stamp on your piece of card to the right and punch out, you won’t waste too much card.

Gorgeous Happy Birthday 1

I find if you stamp the sentiment first then line up the little banner frame around it, it seems easier for me. However, you work out what works best for you and then punch it out with the Classic Label Punch. The Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals work really well with the sentiment.

Gorgeous Happy Birthday – Other Colour Combinations

  • Berry Burst, Sweet Sugarplum and Lemon Lime Twist
  • Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake
  • Dapper denim, Pool Party and Emerald Envy
  • Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist
  • Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Old Olive

Cross Over Pocket Card

This Cross Over Pocket Card is a replay of another of my Facebook Live Videos which has been edited. I thought you’d like to see it as these treat holders are quick and easy to make and can be made for any occasion.

Cross Over Pocket Card

This is my Christmas version using Painted Harvest, Emerald Envy, Tranquil Tide and Cherry Cobbler. I’ve sued the Starburst Punch to punch the flower out instead of fussy cutting it. I don’t mind fussy cutting but there are those who find it difficult for numerous reasons so this punch seems to work well.

Cross Over Pocket Card 1

There maybe just the odd one or two petals which get a trim with the punch, but I think you’ll agree, it does the job?

Join me each week on my Facebook Business Page for a live video

Note Card Easy

Note Card Easy is a replay of my Facebook Live video for World Card Making Day. Please be kind. I was my very first Facebook Live and you’re viewing the edited version.

Note Cards are the perfect cards to decorate, make, embellish when you’re in a hurry and without much effort you can come up with a beautiful hand made card.

Note Cards and envelopes come in Whisper White and now also in Very Vanilla and are beautiful quality. They fit neatly into the acetate boxes from the Holiday Catalogue and would make a great gift for someone.

Note Card Easy

This one has some Designer Series Paper layered on the front, a punched sentiment and a bow. Quite simple but very effective. Watch the video to see how I achieved the look and have a try yourself.

Thant was so easy, right? Find me on Facebook Live
Join me Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Australian Eastern Standard Daylight Time.
Here’s a close up o the sentiment piece. See how a little colour around the punch just lifts it off the background with great effect?
I also decorated the inside of the card and the envelope too.
Don’t forget, this colouring was achieved using the Stampin’ Write Markers. A great product to invest in.

Cheers To You

Today’s card for the Holidays is Cheers To You which could be used for Birthday, Christmas, New Year or anytime you have to celebrate.

Cheers To You

This Cheers To You card is very easy to make and I CASED it from the Holiday Catalogue, just tweaking it a bit to suite the supplies I had. The Banner Framelit Dies (Retired) come in handy for this card but aren’t essential. The gorgeous Champagne Foil sheet behind the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper could be swapped out for Gold Foil. I just liked the different look the Champagne Foil gives.

Cheers To You1

All the stamps are from the set Cheers to the Year and I used the Stamp-A-Ma_Jig to stamp the sentiment on the Whisper White card with a basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker to just colour the word from the sentiment I wanted.

Cheers to the Year Measurements

  • Card base is 14.8 cm x 21 cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
  • Score and fold at 10.5 cm or 4 1/4″. This is a landscape card
  • Champagne Foil is 14.3 cm x 10 cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper is 13.8 cm x 9.5 cm or 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Stamp sentiment on Whisper White scrap and trim and cut to fit
  • Insert is 13.5 cm x 9.5 cm or 5 2/5″ x 3 3/4″

Lost My Marbles

I thought I had Lost My Marbles but it’s OK as I found them in a Clear Wood Mount Stampin’ Up! Case.

Lost My Marbles

I did have a post about this last week but didn’t share exactly how to do it. I’ve used a similar method to my ‘Billie’ Bows to make the bow for this card. I left the ribbon on the spool and snipped off about 10 cm first, then wrapped about 4 or 5 loops around 4 open fingers before tying in the middle and neatening up. Today I really have Lost My Marbles and I reveal all.

Did you like this video? Did you think it was a bit of fun? Subscribe to my YouTube Channel.
Thank you for subscribing. I appreciate your support.
Last week, I shared a different card I made using this same technique. Now you need to go and raid your children’s toys or head to a dollar store to buy yourself some marbles to use. As I showed you in the video it will give you two quite different backgrounds to use for your cards. I added ribbon and used the Layering Square Framelit Dies to complete the look.
Lost My Marbles1

Lost My Marbles Measurements:

  • Card base is 21 cm x 14.8 cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
  • Score and fold the card base at 10.5 cm or 4 1/4″
  • Layer 1 (marble layer) is 14.3 cm x 10 cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Ribbon – approx 30 cm or 12″ for the Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon and as much as you need for the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon from the Holiday Catalogue

I explain to my customers it’s always good to buy the Classic Stampin’ Refill Ink when you but the Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad. That way, you always have the reinker on hand for techniques and to replenish your stamp pad if it looses a bit of its juice over Christmas as you’ve used it so much.

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Christmas Trees

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree …. something tells me the Latte Girls are going to inspire you with Christmas trees today. Now, this Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop – Christmas Trees will probably give you cause to spend some money on Stampin’ Up! product (which can be purchased from my Online Store) you need to buy from the Holiday Catalogue 🙂 Make sure you check all the blogs in the hop:

Here’s my Christmas Tree Project for this week:

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop - Christmas Trees

This card uses the Ready For Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set with Thinlits Bundle which saves you 10% when buying as a bundle than if you buy each product individually. The cute bits and pieces in this set make it worth buying. Just look at that dog trying it’s best to get its paws on those cookies left out for Santa.

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop - Christmas Trees1

The Christmas Tree is stamped in Garden Green on Pear Pizzazz card. I’ve added some pine leaves in Wild Wasabi to the front of the tree. I then added the ornaments.

Ready For Christmas?

The tree is cut with the corresponding thinlit die. I stamped the greeting on the inside of that panel. You can use the pine bough from the stamp set to stamp on the outside of the envelope. It corresponds to the one on the top of the stair banister on the front of the card.

The banister bough is stamped in Garden Green on Pear Pizzazz. All the elements are stamped in Basic Black Archival ink. I used an Aqua Painter to colour them in their various colours. The Shimmery White card I used to cut the elements worked well for this card.

One last look at the tee with its enticing hall table with cookies for Santa and gifts beneath the tree. I love Christmas. Do you? I love all the family being around. It’s wonderful to watch the look on my Grand Children’s faces as they open their gifts. A special time of year.

Star Topped Package Solution

Today’s video is a Star Topped Package Solution for a jar. The one I have made looks suitable for a male but change the colours and even the stamp set to make one suitable for a female.

Star Topped Package Solution

We do use the Envelope Punch Board to help create this fun Star Topped Package Solution. You need it to create that ‘frill’ type look at the top where you tie the ribbon. I will place all the instructions below the video along with some more photos for you to look at. I used Lovely As A Tree as this set can easily be turned into a Christmas theme with a little creativity and imagination. Here’s a couple of ideas:

  • Stamp in Old Olive and use a Real Red or Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers. Add little red baubles or berries to the trees
  • Use Versamark Ink and use Copper, Gold or Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and corresponding trim or ribbon
  • Stamp in Night of Navy and use Embossing Paste to add ‘snow’ to the ground and branches – heat with your heat tool before it sets.

Now watch the video to see how I created this Star Topped Package Solution.

Thank you for watching and I hope you found it helpful.
Thank you for subscribing. I appreciate your support.
Star Topped Package Solution1
This is the other Star Topped Package Solution I made for the video. I hope you feel the close up photos help you in placement the decorative border and the sentiment.

Star Topped Package Solution Measurements etc

  • Score with short end at top of scoring tool at 1 1/2″ or 3.8 cm

  • Burnish score line you made with short edge at top of trimmer. Now stamp above this line for the border of ‘trees’ or whatever you decide to use
  • Stamp sentiment in the centre of the widest panel
  • With long side at top of scoring tool, score at 4 1/2″ or 11.3 cm
  • Place the short side at the top of the scoring tool and score at 1″ and 2″ or 2.5 cm and 5 cm.
