Global Design Project 082 Sketch Challenge

Global Design Project 082 Sketch Challenge. I love sketches, don’t you? This week I’m playing along with the Global Design Project and their sketch challenge. Make sure you check out their blog to see what the Design Team have come up with for the challenge and of course the inspiration from participants in the challenge.

EDIT: Woohoo just received a Special Mention for my card

My card has some Sneak Peek from the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

I’ve used some of the New! Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper Item #144118.

A co-ordinating stamp set is also featured with the sentiment. Just love this suite and you should put it on your shopping list when these products become available on June 1st.

New! Birthday Delivery • 23 photopolymer stamps Item # 143660. There’s framelits too so no fussy cutting and they match up with the Designer Series Paper too!! Now what else can you see that’s new?

Isn’t this a gorgeous punch? Another item for your shopping list on June 1st. This is the New! Pretty Label Punch Item #143715.

I’ve also used some Gold Metallic Thread and teamed that with another New product – New! Glitter Enamel Dots Item #144200 and they co-ordinate with Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Berry Burst, Old Olive. Now the D.S.P. I used co-ordinates with Daffodil Delight but I think these new Glitter Enamel Dots go well on this card.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.

Bunny Box

Bunny Box (Video) is made with the Gift Bag Punch Board and Layering Ovals with a couple of punches as well. I do apologise for the length of the Video, but I wanted to show you all steps. Once you’ve made one the others will follow very quickly.

The Blushing Bride Box was my prototype so there are a few blemishes, shall we say. However, by the time I got to the Soft Sky one in the Video I had it all down pat.

Thank You for signing up to my YouTube Chanel (click on the above banner). I’m sure you’ll take something away from each video.

MEASUREMENTS & INSTRUCTIONS

  • Card is cut to 10″ x 9″ or 25.5cm x 23cm
  • Use the Gift Bag Punch Board for the base and box scoring guide
  • Choose one 10″ side to be the top and with the 9″ or 23cm at the top of your scoring tool score at 1″ or 2.5cm and 3″ or 7.5cm
  • Turn 180° and place unscored side into the Gift Bag Punch Board and follow the instructions for a Small Bag but don’t score the gusset. (My  video will show you how).
  • Place your card into your Simply Scored and continue the score lines, made by the Gift Bag Punch Board, right to the opposite edge of the card
  • Fold and burnish all score lines
  • Trim the 2 side tabs by 1″ or 2.5 cm and angle edges for better closure of box
  • Remove 1 of the front/back flaps totally
  • Place the final front/back flap back into the Gift Bag Punch Board to round off edges for easier closure.
  • Adhere facial features, tail and ears to box
  • Adhere box together

Freshly Brewed is Stamping Your Background

Freshly Brewed is Stamping Your Background  and we have had lots of fun doing it. You know stamps can be used for backgrounds as well as an image on your card? Well the Latte Girls are going to WOW you today with stamped backgrounds. You can have so much fun playing with stamps to create your own backgrounds, not just for cards, but for wrapping paper, boxes and lots more.

Make sure you check out Leonie and Narelle’s blogs to see their inspiration. Here’s my card:

I decided to use Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim as the basis of my card today. So decide on a colour scheme and a stamp set such as the Paisleys & Posies Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamp away until you have as much background as you want.

Then decide what occasion you’re making the card for and make a sentiment to match. This one is made from Layering Ovals with Sweet Sugarplum for the scalloped oval and the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies for the sentiment piece itself.

Handy Hint: Stamp first and die cut second. That way you can see where to place the die and you can straighten it all up if you have stamped crooked. (Hope that makes sense?).

Now hop on over to Narelle’s Blog to see what she has for you today.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.

Team Gifts For On Stage

Team Gifts For On Stage. I had so much fun creating these and then handing them out to my wonderful Team Members. These members were able to join me at On Stage Local in Sydney this past weekend.

Watch Out – Big Announcement About!!

They were made using the 2016 – 2018 In Color 12″ x 12″ Card Stock and some Whisper White. I also used the 2016 – 2018 In Color Ruched Ribbon. I used some Thick Whisper White Baker’s Twine along with Emerald Envy and Peekaboo Peach Classic Stampin’ Ink.

I’ve used Timless Textures to stamp the images on the box lid (before assembly) and inked around the edges with a sponge.

Inside their box was a Breast Cancer Notebook, some sticky notes with sayings like:’need now, buy me’ etc. Some owls of course, a water bottle, a card, a highlight pen and some small packs of Maltesers.

The above is a close up photo of some of the contents of the box. Both the top and bottom used 1 piece of 12″ x 12″ Card stock each. You can make them with the same measurements and just score the top so it’s a little bigger and it fits just nicely over the base.

So, the completed box looked like this. Every On Stage event I have given them a Clear Mount Case decorated and containing everything they would need for a new catalogue and this year I just wanted something a little different. What do you think? Would you love to receive a gift like this from me? You can always join my team of Krafty Owlz.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.

Rainbow Watercolour Background

I’ve already shown you one version of how to do a Rainbow Watercolour Background but today I bring you another or alternative way to achieve this background.

This is a much easier way to achieve a Rainbow Watercolour Background than the technique I brought to you last week. Watch the video to see how easy it is:

Now, did you go and raid some poor child’s art supplies or rush off to the dollar store to purchase a broad flat tip paint brush, so you can give this technique a try? Easy wasn’t it? I hope you try it with whatever ink pads you have at home.
  • Card base 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded at 10.5cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″
  • Layer 1 (coloured card) 10.5cm x 6.5cm or 4 1/4″ x 2 3/4″
  • Layer 2 (Watercolor Paper) 10cm x 6cm or 4″ x 2 1/2″
  • Banner for sentiment was cut after sentiment stamped on scrap of Whisper White Card – just cut close on each side of sentiment and leave enough on both ends to banner cut
I do hope you’ve enjoyed these techniques I’ve brought to you recently. Pop back on Monday to see some last minute Easter projects to make.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.
