Yummy In My Tummy with Watercolor Pencils

I had so much fun creating this Yummy In My Tummy Watercolor Pencil card for a friend. There was a lot of masking involved before the fun part of colouring.  It’s a bit difficult to see in the photo but there is some shading in this gorgeous little monster.

The Large Number Framelit Dies came in handy to die cut the numeral 3 from Real Red card stock and the balloons were punched out using the Balloon Bouquet Punch.

The number of balloons accidentally matched the numeral on the card. You could easily do a bunch of balloons using this same technique.

I used the balloons stamps from Balloon Adventures to stamp on the envelope and inside the card in matching colours to those used on the front of the card’

Scrapbook Layout with Tassels

I had lots of fun making this Scrapbook Layout with Tassels. This is one of my gorgeous Grand daughter’s in her day care photo from last year before she turned 2. She doesn’t much like things in her hair to keep it tidy and she’s a bit of an imp but very lovable.

Here’s a closer look at the gold foil label from the Cupcakes & Carousels Kit. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Gig to position the sentiment as I didn’t want to mess it up on one of those lovely labels.

I also used the tassels, bows, ribbon and sequins from the kit. See if you can spot where I used each embellishments.

Now, I must confess I didn’t make the Carousel Horse, I obtained it from On Stage in Brisbane and knew there would be a perfect use for it in one of my projects. Using my bone folder on the end of the straw to squash it meant it was flatter to attach to the page which I did with Glue Dots.  I also attached the tassels to the backs of the bows with Glue Dots.

I’ve used stamps from Timeless Textures on the layout as well and inked up with Soft Suede, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral. The Designer Series Paper behind the photo piece is from Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack 6″ x 6″. I just cut a piece in half and joined it behind the photo.

I’d love to read in the comments, what you think of my layout.

WWYS #106 Delicate Details

Delicate Details has to be one of my favourites from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure and I have a card which features most of these stamps so I thought it would be a good entry for WWYS #106 Delicate Details this week. Make sure you have a look at the WWYS Blog to see all the inspiration from the Design Team and the other entries in the challenge.

Now I did feature this card and another similar in my Sale-A-Bration 14 day Video series. You can see how I made the card and read all the instructions here. I’ve used Tip Top Taupe card stock and white embossed the Delicate Details on the first layer.

I’ve used Avant Garden for the sentiment and the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Ovals Framelits Dies for the sentiment which also features the 6″ x 6″ Glitter Assortment Pack. So, this card packs a lot of Sale-A-Bration products into the one card. Here’s the other card which is similar:

Don’t forget, for every A$90 you spend you may choose 1 FREE Sale-A-Bration product from the brochure and second release but only while stocks last.

Birthdays & Cake

I do love Birthdays and of course Cake. This week I’ve incorporated Birthdays and Cake with Tassels. The Latte Girls are featuring Birthdays & Cake in the blog hop this week. Make sure you visit Leonie and Narelle’s blogs and leave a comment on their inspiration which they share. It’s always amazing and well worth the visit.

I used the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment Kit from the Occasions Catalogue. Here’s a photo of what’s included in the kit.

I must confess to literally throwing this card together in about 10 minutes, so it can be done when one is under pressure.

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the sentiment, so I could get it where I wanted. The Carousel is stamped with Basic Black Archival ink and I’ve used some watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to colour the icing in the Cupcakes. It seems only fitting to add a Tassel to the centre of the Carousel which is fussy cut.

I’d love to read your comments. You can leave them below and don’t forget to leave comments on Leonie and Narelle’s blogs when you visit.

Twist & Pop Card a Winner!!

This is another of the cards we made in our monthly Technique Class last week. It’s a Twist & Pop Card and once you have a few useful tips, it’s a very easy card to make. This one is made with Island Indigo and Whisper White card stock with some ink distressing around all the edges of the Whisper White card pieces with Stampin’ Sponges or Sponge Daubers.

The ladies ‘built’ a garden scene to their liking using my sample as guidance and the stamp sets Awesomely Artistic, Papillon Potpourri and Garden In Bloom. They all came up with different designs which is wonderful. Lots of happy chatter while they worked and a fun time was had by all.
