This week at the Global Design Project it’s CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the Designer. So for GDP #120 there’s a sketch and we as participants in the challenge interpret the sketch. Now the Design Team have loads of inspiration for GDP #120 and I do hope you pop over there to see what they have for you plus have a look at the other challenge participants entries.

GDP #120

Krista has given us a gorgeous sketch. My card is a bit in left field I think, however I was really happy with the way it turned out. I used Brusho, so you’re never quite sure how it’s going to turn out.

GDP #120

Brusho Colour Crystals of Gamboge, Yellow and Moss Green were used. Then I used a Stampin’ Spritzer to thoroughly wet some Watercolor Paper and then sprinkled the colours on randomly. I wasn’t quite happy with the speckled effect so I spritzed again. This time the Watercolor Paper was almost dripping. (Make sure you have some paper towel under it.) Here’s a closer look at the leaves for GDP #120.

GDP #120

I used Vintage Leaves and stamped in Old Olive and then die cut the leaves using the Leaflets Framelits Dies. I love how the combination of stamping and Brusho worked on this project. It was a bit out of my comfort zone and not something I’d normally do. However, the idea has been rolling around in my head for a while and I felt GDP #120 was the ideal time to give it a try. I’m so glad I did.

GDP #120 Basics

  • Card base is 21 cm x 14.8 cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored and folded at 10.5 cm or 4 1/4″
  • Crushed Curry layer measures 14.3 cm x 10 cm or 5 1/4″  4″
  • Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack measures 9.5 cm x 13.8 cm or 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Card insert measures 9.5 cm x 13.5 cm or 5″ x 3 3/4″
  • Watercolor Paper was enough to comfortably die cut the leaves
  • Ribbon was approximately 16 cm or 6 1/2″

The sentiment comes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used one of the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and Old Olive ink to stamp on the inside of the card and on the outside of the envelope.

I hope you like my versions of GDP #120. I’d love to read your comments, so why not leave one? Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop Banner

Today the Latte Girls are bring you projects using Bird Banter. This is a cute but quirky stamp set. Make sure you hop to all the blogs as they will all have different projects to share with you.

I decided on something a little different and combined the Bird Banter stamp set with the Petal Palette Designer Series Paper.

Bird Banter

There’s definitely something a bit quirky about this set. I decided to use the Toucan and the Budgerigar to make my card. I added some sponge brayering and Stampin’ Blends and made a Spinner Birthday Card.

Bird Banter

Isn’t he cute. I’ve used a range of Stampin’ Blends and seeing as we don’t have a black I settled for the Smoky Slate. The tail is a combination of Night of Navy and Rich Razzleberry with a touch of Color Lifter. I discovered Toucan’s can be a range of colours. I’ve used the Classic Label Punch for the happy Birthday sentiment.

Petal Palette

Isn’t this just gorgeous black and white Designer Series Paper? I cut a piece of it for the front of the card and used a Sponge Brayer and Lemon Lime Twist ink to colour it. I think it turned out well as a background to the card.

Bird Banter1

The card insert and the envelope were also coloured with Stampin’ Blends but only lightly so the Stampin’ Blends didn’t seep through the paper. I used Light & Dark Pool Party, Light & Dark Daffodil Delight and the Color Lifter.

Bird Banter Basics

  • Card base measures 14.8 cm x 21 cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored and folded in half to make a portrait card
  • Layer 1 and the D.S.P.are 14.3 cm x 10 cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″ – adhere them together
  • Choose 2 Layering Circle Framelits Dies and die cut this last layer
  • Pop Foam Adhesive Strips and or Stampin’ Dimensionals around but not close to the cut out circle and adhere to front of card
  • Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the centre circle. Now, I find it easier to pop the circle frame piece back into the die cut circle, remove the backing from the Stampin’ Dimensionals and pop the centre circle down. Then remove the circle frame. I just find this ensures you get that centre circle piece in the correct position.
  • Take 2 x $0.05 pieces or similar and round off a Stampin’ Dimensional then sandwich the 2 coins together.
  • Pop the mechanism in place and add the bird

OK, that’s it from me for today. Make sure you visit the other blogs in the hop.

You can shop for all the products used today in my Online Store or contact me to place your order.

Don’t forget for every A$90 you spend, you can choose a FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.

Now don’t just put this into the masculine projects. You could easily make this feminine or suitable for a baby. Think outside the square a bit and look at the supplies you have and the occasions you have coming up and try to plan ahead.

The 12 Deals of Christmas is being trialed this year!! Extra deals on top of your FREE Sale-A-Bration product but this deal is from me ONLY! Today is the last day!

Details are down at the bottom…!

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 5 Card 1

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 5

This technique is still done on the Watercolor Paper which I have trimmed down before adding to my card front. I’ve used the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies and Gold Glimmer Paper for the die cut with Black Metallic Thread behind the Dragonfly.

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 5a

I’ve used the Feather Together to stamp the image going up the side of the front panel. For the insert and the outside of the envelope, I’ve used the image from Dragonfly Dreams.

Now watch the video to find out more about this card and see how I made the background and the tips I share in the video:

I hope you could give my video a thumbs up and that you’ll subscribe to my Channel.
Thank you for your support through subscribing. I do appreciate it.
Now are you interested to see what I made with the sample from the video? As I had the gold/orange colours most prominent in the sample I stuck with the Gold Glimmer Paper. Here’s my Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 5 card:

The 12 Deals of Christmas is being trialed this year!! Extra deals on top of your FREE Sale-A-Bration product but this deal is from me ONLY!

Details are down at the bottom…!

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue Card:

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue

This one uses the Petal Palette Bundle and the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper which is cut on a diagonal to add interest.

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue 1

The roses are coloured in with Stampin’ Blends in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive and then die cut with the Petals & More Thinlit Dies. They are adhered to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the other elements are all added with Multipurpose Liquid glue.

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue 2

I’ve used the dotted image in the stamp set and Rich Razzleberry ink to add it to the card insert and to the outside of the envelope.

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue Card 2

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue 3

This is my Sale-A-Bration card made with Heartfelt Blooms and one of the Petal Pair textured Impressions Embossing Folders. I stamped the large flower om Whisper White Card and die cut it with the largest of the Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies, Circles. Then I coloured over the image with my Watercolor Pencils and came back in with a Blender Pen to blend the colour.

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalogue 4

I did my trick of stamping on the envelope and the card insert at the same time to finish those elements off. The leaf punch was used with So Saffron.

So today we’re looking at Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4 where we wet portions of an image and drop Brusho Colour Crystals on it. Here’s the sample I haven’t made into a card as It was my first go with this technique and I’m still thinking of how I can use it.

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4 a

For this sample I have used the butterfly image from Beautiful Day and stamped in Versamark Ink and then used Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on it and then heat set it.

Here’s a closer view:

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4 b

I needed to be much more accurate with placing my Brusho Colour Crystals. Watch the video and see what you think.

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4

Thank you for watching, I hope you were able to give me a thumbs up.

If you subscribe, you won’t miss any more videos from me, both technique and product.

So, it was much easier when I did this technique a second time as I sort of knew what I was doing. The more you do something the better you become at it. Here’s a closer image of the sample in the video.

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4 c

Now this piece has dried I’m quite liking how the Prussian Blue has melded into the next part of the wing.

Brusho Crystal Colour Technique 4 Tips & Measurements:

  • Stamp the image in Versamark and heat set with an Embossing Powder on Watercolor Paper
  • Wet the area, using an Aqua Painter, for the first colour and carefully tap on some Brusho Colour Crystal onto the area
  • Wet the next area, using an Aqua Painter, and carefully tap on some Brusho Colour Crystals.
  • Continue doing this until your image is coloured how you want it. I have only used two colours but you could use more.
  • Allow to dry or use your heat tool to dry
  • Trim your image down and add a mat of colour behind it adhering the two together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Choose cardstock colours which will coordinate with the colours in your image. I chose Night of Navy and Pumpkin Pie
  • Wrap some ribbon around one end of your image piece and tie a bow, trim ends of ribbon
  • Adhere this piece to the card base

TIPS:

  • Use Tear & Tape to adhere the ribbon in place on the back of your mat card
  • Tie the first half of your bow nd lay the Mini Gold Sequin Trim across the ‘knot’ and then finish tying your bow. Neaten up both the ends of the Trim and the Ribbon

I have one more video in this series for you tomorrow. Next week I have a series on the True Gentleman Suite of products. I’m really looking forward to bringing you this series.
