ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

ESAD Blog Hop Header Holiday 2015

Welcome to another ESAD Blog Hop. If you’re just starting this Blog Hop, please make sure you have some refrshments and be prepared to be dazzled at all the wonderful projects you will see shared by fellow demonstrators. You may have come from Jenny Haywar’ds Blog and oh my goodness, her projects were great.

This current Holiday Catalogue is just overflowing with wonderful product for us to play with and sell to our family, friends and customers. I’ve chosen a bundle which will save you 15% on normal prices – Snow Place Stamp Set and the Snow Friends Framelits Dies.

Now I know here in Australia and New Zealand we don’t have snow at Christmas. So, I decided to make 1 side step card with a Northern Hemisphere focus and one with a Southern Hemisphere focus, thus covering all bases.

ESAD Info Holiday 2015

Now for a closer look at my projects and some information on how you can replicate the card and add your own little figures from any of the stamp sets in the current Holiday Catalogue.

  • Crumb Cake cut to 14.8cm x 21cm
  • Cherry Cobbler cut to 6.5cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White cut to 6cm x 9.5cm (front on top of Cherry Cobbler) and 6.5cm x 10cm (back panel)
  • Marina Mist cut to 7.5cm x 6.5cm
  • So Saffron cut to 7.5cm x 4cm
  • Dazzling Diamonds glitter Paper cut to 7.5cm x 6.5cm and 7.5cm x 4cm
  • Whisper White for stamping all the pieces

Cutting & Scoring Instructions

  • Place the Crumb Cake in the trimmer portrait fashion at 7cm and cut from 1.8cm to 15.8cm
  • Using your Simply Scored and with thinner portion at the top score at 10.5cm and this will be a Mountain type fold (as if folding your card in half)
  • Turn 180° (now the thicker part is at the top) and score at 2.5cm; 4.5cm; 7.5cm and 10.5cm
  • Folding from the 2.5cm score as a Mountain; Valley; Mountain; Valley and Mountain folds

With the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper I placed them with right sides together and with my snips shaped the top into s alight curve. This means the hills go in opposite directions.

I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to place all the pieces on the ‘snowmen’ and trimmed the scarf with my snips.

I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add glue to the hat band and the scarf and then tipped Dazzling Diamonds over it and allowed to dry.

I’ve used the Candy Cane as the surf board and added all the details using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Ice Cream with Soft Suede and coloured the top in with Blushing Bride Marker.

I hand cut the ‘sand’ and ‘ocean’ and although difficult to see I did add some Dazzling Diamonds to both using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

The beaks and flippers are coloured with Pumpkin Pie. There are a few different sentiments to choose from in this set too.

I added Whisper White to the back panel for a greeting to be written on. The measurements of the card and careful placing of elements means that both cards will fit inside one of our Stampin’ Up! C6 WHisper White Envelopes and can be mailed to the recipient.

That’s all I have to share and it’s time for you to move to the next blog which is: Paula Reid

  1. beautiful, I wasn’t keen on this stamp set, but you might be changing my mind with these items

  2. These are just gorgeous Libby! I love how you have made one for each hemisphere of the world, especially for us who are “down under” 😀

  3. Libby, your cards are very cute. Mister penguin is adorable and I love your take on the card that depicts a ‘warm Christmas’ as we celebrate here in the Southern Hemisphere. What a fabulous idea. Also, thank you for the tutorial on hoe to create a stepped card. I know what style of card I am going to try next. Thanks for sharing your cute projects with us! Emma xo

  4. Love your fancy fold cards – these look amazing. Thanks for sharing your projects and instructions.
