Layered Die Cuts (Video)

Layered Die Cuts

Today’s video and blog post show how I Layered Die Cuts for a really interesting effect on a card front suitable for anyone really. Here’s my completed card:

Now, although I’ve added ribbon and rhinestone jewels to the front, you could easily add some stamping say from Timeless Textures to make it look more masculine. Add a strip of Black Shimmer or some Burlap Ribbon  or Linen Thread for a totally different look. Try using the Wood Textures DSP stack instead of Color Theory. The possibilities are endless. Watch the video to see how I achieved this effect:

Here’s a look at a side view so you can see the layers better:

Measurements you need to know:
  • Card base – 21cm x 14.8cm scored and folded at 10.5cm or 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored and folded at 4 1/4″
  • Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 14.3cm x 10cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Card and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet – 9.5cm x 8cm or 3 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ for each layer
  • I brushed over the whole top layer with Clear Wink of Stella

This photo shows the ‘shadow’ layer on the bottom. Don’t forget your layers don’t have to match up perfectly and your card will need some gentle persuasion to line up as you adhere each layer.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.

Remember, your creativeness is only limited by your imagination. Keep smiling and until next we share…
