I have 3 projects I want to share with you today.
Aged Tile Sense of Time
· Sense of Time stamp set
· Ink – Whisper White; Early Espresso; Crumb Cake
· Card – Confetti Cream; Early Espresso; Crumb Cake
· Accessories: Snail adhesive
You can use any combination of colours for this card and make the measurements for each layer to suit your needs.
I used the Whisper White craft ink and the cog stamp to stamp down the bottom on the Early Espresso card. I inked the stamp up well and stamped across the card without re-inking. Heat set this or allow it to dry. (I was impatient so I heat set mine.)
Now to get the aged tile look I used the large clock stamp and stamped in Early Espresso. I then used the Crumb Cake ink with the cog stamp and stamped it randomly around the clock. Then you just need to cut that piece of car randomly to give a tile effect. You then need to ink distress each ‘tile’ with either the Early Espresso or Crumb Cake ink. Use snail adhesive to attach each ‘tile’ to the card.
This makes a fantastic male card and can be used for many different occasions. I made 50 of these for the Australian & New Zealand Stampin’ Up!® Convention in Melbourne (12 to14th May 2011). This card was a last minute addition to my swaps and I was up until 2.30a, finishing them. These cards were swapped out much faster than the card below.
Just For You
· Ink – Rich Razzleberry
· Card: Confetti White; Rich Razzleberry; Pretty in Pink; Bashful Blue; Old Olive
· Textured Impressions – Perfect Polka Dots; Framed Tulips
· Stamp set – Oval All
· Punches – Oval; Scallop Oval; 5 petal flower punch; 2 step bird punch
· Accessories – Dimensionals; Snail Adhesive; Multipurpose Liquid Glue; Frost White Shimmer Paint; Whisper White ribbon
Run your first layer of card through the Big Shot using the framed tulip textured Impressions folder.
Run you 2nd piece of Whisper White card through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions folder. Ink distress this layer with the same colour ink as your 2nd layer (mine is Rich Razzleberry).
Stamp your sentiment on Whisper White the punch out with the oval punch. Layer that on top of Rich Razzleberry card that you have punched out using the scallop oval punch. Use a stylus or something that will give you a small dot and dip into a bit of the Frost White Shimmer Mist Paint.
To make your sweet peas, punch out 3 butterflies using the Butterfly Punch. Mix up the Frost White Shimmer Paint with rubbing alcohol (15 drops to about 30ml/1oz of rubbing alcohol and shake well) in a small spray bottle. Make sure you shake well and shake again while using. Spray the butterflies and then scrunch them up. While still damp fold the butterfly up – the smaller wings fold up to the larger wings. Now when you do this fold the smaller wings so there is a small gap between the top of each lot of wings. Now fold in ½ so the sets of wings kiss. Squeeze the bottom of this shape until you’re happy with the shape. While doing this you also need to curl the bigger wing out so it reveals the smaller wings inside.
Use the 5 Petal Flower punch to punch out 1 flower in old olive. Spritz this with the same mixture, scrunch up and then flatten out a bit. Cut each petal into the middle. This will give you the base of the sweet pea. Use the 2 step bird punch to punch out some leaves and spray these with the Shimmer Mist spritz.
Cut 3 thin stems from the Old Olive and then 2 very thin tendrils also from the Old Olive. When you cut the tendrils, wrap them around something thin such as the handle of a fine paint brush, to make them ‘curly’.
Now to put your sweet peas together you add some glue to the piece for the bottom of the flower and mould it around the front of the flower and into a thin ‘stem’. Adhere your stems to the card, add the leaves where desired and tuck the tendrils under the leaves, Adhere the sweet pea flowers to the top of the stems. Allow it all to dry and then pull at the tendrils until you have the desired look.
Now spritz the whole card again – this gives a wonderful glimmer look. Allow to dry.
Tie a bow from Whisper White ribbon and adhere and then adhere you sentiment embellishment.
I made 50 of these for Convention too – that’s 300 flowers, stems and flower bases; 100 tendrils etc. It looks great when it’s finished but there was a time I thought I had chosen too much to do.
My last share with you is a card I cased from one I saw at Convention.
Fathers’ Day Card
Stamp sets – Sail Away; Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink – Basic Black; Versamark
Card – Whisper White; Basic Black
Accessories – White embossing powder; Black embossing powder; Heat gun and Stamp-A-Ma-Jig
Cut your white and black card stock making the whisper white a little bit wider than your black so it will slip behind the black card and adhere.
Use your Stam-A-Majig and versamark ink to stamp the sail boat onto your white and black card – see sample. Use your embossing powder and heat gun to heat emboss your image. Layer your sail boat to card – white card with sail boat onto black card and black card with sail boat to white card mats. Adhere to card base and stamp sentiment where desired.
This is a quick easy card to make and I’m sure all the Fathers in your life will love it. We celebrate Fathers’ Day on the 1st Sunday in September here in Australia.
I hope you enjoyed these 3 cards. Now don’t forget to click on my link to join SUDSOL for a free 2 week trial and I’m. sure you will want to stay.
