SUDSOL Blog Tour # 10 Celebrating the Holiday Catalogue

Holiday Catalog SUDSOL Blog Tour #10!

Welcome to the SUDSOL Blog Tour!   I have been a member of SUDSOL for quite some time now, almost as long as I’ve been a demonstrator.  I always recommend this group to my fellow demonstrators, as many of us consider it our unofficial “upline”.  You will find tons of samples, tutorials, class ideas, and plenty of ideas for growing your Stampin’ Up! business.
Over 1,000 demonstrators sharing and supporting each other online with exclusive projects and class ideas, forms, and so much more! Be sure to sign up for your free two-week trial here.
One of the greatest things about SUDSOL is the access to the SUDSOL Creative Library which has projects, pictures, patterns and instructions for you to use yourself or as ideas to utilise in your Stampin’ Up!® business. I will be adding this tutorial to the SUDSOL website very soon.
Check out all my projects in my very own SUDSOL Gallery  and while you’re at it have a look at all the wonderful inspiration shared freely by SUDSOL Members. If you’re a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, try a free 2 week trial, by clicking here.

Inspired by Season of Sweets designer Kit (126912 A$15.95)

I loved this little package so much; I made a template from it so it could be used year round for any special occasion.  All you need to add to this project are the clear food-safe Cellophane Bags 124134 A$4.50 for 50).

Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (126908 A$18.95)

Framelits Dies – Window Frames Collection (129021 A$45.95)
Whisper White card (106550 A$14.95 for 40 sheets)
Window Sheet (114323 A$8.95)
Adorning Accents Edgelits (125595 A$16.95)
Adorning Accents Folder (125601 A$15.95)
Bigz Die – Snow Flurry
Versamark ink pad and Iridescent Ice embossing powder
Other – Sticky Strip; Dimensionals; Snail Adhesive; Big Shot; Snips; Bone Folder; post-it-note
Template – down load here.
Trace the template onto your DSP and then cut out with your snips. Leave the top edge with some extra paper so you can cut it out using the Edgelits.
Use your Simply Scored to score the lines as marked on the template
Fold on all your scored lines and use your Bone folder to sharpen the creases.
Match up the top flap with the Edgelit die and adhere it to the DSP with post-it-notes to keep it in place while running it through the Big Shot. Now make sure your folded pieces remain folded, otherwise your DSP won’t run through the Big Shot. Now this will also ensure you have nice sharp creases. I also embossed the flap using the Adorning Accents Folder that matches the Edgelit.
Now place the Window Frame Framelit die centred in the front of your package and cut By running it through the Big Shot (don’t forget to hold the Window Frame in place with some post-it-notes.
Cut a 10cm square piece of Window Sheet and adhere it to the wrong side of your package, covering the window you have just cut.
Place sticky strip on the top fold of each side and close the package to adhere the package together.
Now to make the belly band cut a strip of DSP 24cm x 2.5cm, wrap around the package and fasten with snail or sticky strip.
Use the Window Frame framelits again and cut 2 in Whisper White and 1 in DSP. With the Whisper White one cut in the centre and trim off the little peak, layer onto your DSP so it is just slightly bigger than the DSP one – do this on both ends and it will give you a white backing. Adhere to the belly band with Dimensionals.
Use the Snow Flurry Bigz die and cut out some snow flakes in Whisper White card. Open your Versamark ink pad and push one side of the snowflakes onto the ink – use tweezers. Now place them in your embossing tray and sprinkle Iridescent Ice embossing powder over them liberally and then set with your heat tool. Use tweezers to prevent burning yourself and they don’t need long to heat. Place dimensionals on the back of each snowflake and adhere to the centre of your ‘window lable’ on the belly band.

Now for my second project
12 x 12 CARD STOCK BASKET (Square Box Basket)
This project was shared by SUDSOL member Jennifer Thomas
You can find it in the Patterns and Templates Library here. Sign up for a free 2 week trial here.
Snow Festival Designer Series paper (126908 A$18.95)
Whisper White card
Sensational Season stamp set (121190 A$25.95)
Or bundle the Stamps and the Framelits (129946 A$70.95)
Ink – Cherry Cobbler; Soft Suede & Gumball Green
Ribbon – Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding
Simply Scored (125625 A$49.95)
Snail or Sticky Strip
This is a great project that lends itself to many different occasions. You can fill it with many different things. Why not buy the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps (125152 A$29.95) and the Cellophane Bags 124134 A$4.50 for 50) and fill it with cookie bags with ribbon tied around the top of the bags and little tags for each person. I did have some cookies, but they seem to have disappeared!!
My last share is a Christmas card – it’s never too early to start on making your Christmas Cards.
Card – Gumball Green & Whisper White
Big Shot – Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Folder; Designer Frames textured Impressions folder and Oval Bigz Die
Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon
Stamp set – Jolly Bingo
Mat and piercing tool
Ink & Marker – Cherry Cobbler
Adhesive – Snail and Dimensionals
Markers – Cherry Cobbler
This is a fairly easy card, but loos fantastic. You could set up a bit of a production line and make a bundle of these cards. Then make a cute little Bag Holder and give them as a gift or use them as a hostess gift.
