SUDSOL Blog Tour with Flip Flop Album

I belong to SUDSOL and absolutely love it. There are so many project shares, videos, there’s a great Creative Library which has project pictures, patterns and instructions. It’s a great group to belong to for current Demonstrators and New Recruits.

I wanted to make a flip album for photos. SUDSOL provided me with a free project tutorial on how to make one. This is called a Flip Flop Album by Jan Farring. I used the current product from the 2016 – 2017 Annual Catalogue.

Here’s the album with the front covers open. You can choose to do some journaling or add some photos.

The above photo shows the flip album open with the gate-fold sections which keep each section of the album. I’ve used  the Detailed Floral Thinlits dies and combining these in the Big Shot with the new Big Shot Platform and Precision Plate makes cutting these detailed intricate dies so much easier. I just ran the sandwich back and forth then used the Die Brush and all was cute extremely well and the tiny bits just popped out cleanly.

I used the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper throughout with 12″ x 12″ Whisper White card. The pattern I got from the SUDSOL Pattern Library gave me all the cutting measurements and folding measurements in the tutorial, making for quite a quick make for this lovely album which would be great as a gift or as a keepsake as a Memory Album.

I also made this card to match the album. This one I stamped in Night of navy and the front of the album I stamped in Sahara Sand before adding the Detailed Floral Thinlit which I adhered with Multipurpose adhesive.

Why do I love SUDSOL?

There are 3 main parts to SUDSOL:

  1. The StamPINboard (stamped samples).A Pinterest like board where you’ll can save/store stamping related items from anywhere on the web – without it being visible to your customers.  There are thousands of samples for your viewing pleasure.
  2. The Discussion Forum (demonstrator discussions). Interact with other SU! demonstrators by asking and receiving answers to your stamping or business questions.
  3. The Articles area (Patterns, Techniques, Business articles, forms & files). Using the Member Home or Article pull-down list, explore the vast array of information that has been shared by members over the years – including Patterns, Techniques, Business ideas, forms, files, and much more.  There are thousands of useful bits of information geared at both the hobby and business demo.
